Please come to your appointment with no eye makeup on, such as, mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow or heavy concealer.

Use the restroom before your appointment. Do not drink a lot of water or any caffeinated beverages before your appointment! You will be advised to keep your eyes closed at all times during the process. Caffeine can make your eyes flutter.

Be sure to bring your own mask to your appointment and dress warm.  Blankets at the studio are no longer allowed.

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions is an advanced technique that lengthens and thickens eyelashes. They are single strands of lashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. We use cruelty free synthetic and silk lashes.

How will they look and feel?

They will look completely natural, only much longer and fuller. They will feel like your own eyelashes.

How long will the initial appointment take?

You can expect your first appointment to take approximately 1  1/2 - 2 hours.

What is a fill?

Fills are done every 3 weeks depending on care and how quickly your eyelashes grow. At your fill appointment we will gently remove any grown out lashes and replace them with new lashes and fresh adhesive.

Why do I loose some of my lashes?

Due to the natural growth cycle of your lashes you will find your natural eyelashes shed every 60-90 days as new ones grow in. We recommend getting a fill every 3 weeks to fill in lashes on the new growth. (check out our Instagram for details on eyelash growth cycles @INSTASASS_SF).

How long do eyelash extensions typically last?

This all depends on your own personal habits, day to day activities and up-keep. Most of our clients come in every 3 weeks before the lashes begin to really look sparse.

Do eyelashes damage my lashes?

Yes and no.

Yes, your lashes can be damaged if applied from someone who was not properly trained with poor isolation technique.

No, lash extensions properly applied by a trained technician who uses quality products should not damage lashes.  Our eyelash extension application techniques and innovative aftercare ensures your lash health.

My friend is allergic to eyelashes is this common?

True allergic reactions do happen, but are rare. If you have developed an allergic reaction you may still wear extensions with some changes made to the aftercare process. Common issues such as eye infections are due to improperly washing and caring for your lashes.

Can I use an eyelash growth serum while having eyelash extensions?

Natural lash growth products containing vitamins and peptides are wonderful and will have no adverse effect on the longevity of your extensions. We carry the award winning GRANDE LASH - MD Lash Conditioner at SASS which is available for purchase.

Can I go swimming?

Yes, the adhesive is water proof.  Cleanse the lashes of chlorine or ocean water afterwards.

Are eyelash extensions safe while pregnant?

Generally speaking, eyelash extensions are a safe and non-invasive cosmetic procedure - SASS uses a high-quality, low fume adhesive which is manufactured specifically for cosmetic use near the eye, and the adhesive does not ever touch your skin - as the extensions are glued to the eyelash hairs. Allergic reactions to the adhesive are very rare and when they do present, are easily treated. In saying this, we do not recommend that a pregnant women who have never had eyelash extensions before test out the procedure during their pregnancy. Firstly, the lash extension procedure requires you to lay flat on your back for over one hour; a position that is not recommended for women in the advanced stages of pregnancy. It also requires that you lie quite still - which can be hard if you're heavily pregnant. Secondly, if you were unlucky enough to have an allergic reaction, your doctore may not be able to give you the required treatment due to your pregnancy, prolonging the reaction. However, if we have been doing your lashes here at SASS and you become pregnant, there is no problem continuing with the extensions, just let us know so that we can make sure you are comfortable at all times!

Do not get the lashes wet, use a spa, sauna, pool or any strenuous activity for the first 24 hours.

Gently cleanse the eyelids and lash line regular every night with the Lash Affair TLC Cleanser available at SASS. To read more about the Lash Affair TLC Cleanser and the benefits of good hygiene click here.

Avoid harsh rubbing, tugging or pulling lashes when cleansing.  Air dry lashes or gently pat dry with a lint free paper towel.

When applying facial and eye creams try to avoid the bottom eye area. Oil-based products can break down the adhesive when eyes closed.

It's best to not wear waterproof mascara or heavy eyeliner. Tight-liner is okay (eyeliner applied under lash line) and eye shadow liner.

Water based makeup wipes are best for makeup removal. No.7 and Simple are good brands to use.

Appointments are required every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain your eyelash extensions. After 4 weeks + with out any visits will be charged a higher price or a full set.
